Which one should you choose?
These two differ sharply in both size and register. Talkative barely covers it with a Siamese, slender and vocal enough to narrate most of its day, while the Siberian is large, substantial, and considerably quieter, expressing affection more through physical presence than conversation.
Coat care is the other clear divider: the Siamese's short, fine coat needs very little brushing, while the Siberian's thick, weatherproof triple coat needs regular attention, especially through seasonal shedding. Some owners describe the Siberian's coat as gentler on mild allergies, though that varies by individual sensitivity rather than being a guarantee for anyone.
A household wanting an intensely interactive, vocal, opinionated cat and comfortable with frequent conversation should lean Siamese. A household wanting a large, gentle, quieter companion with a coat built for colder climates should lean Siberian — both are excellent with kids, so family compatibility won't be the deciding factor.
